Biswa Bangla is my dream, will not spare anybody who tarnish its image: Mamata Banerjee

In a first ever reaction to the Biswa Bangla controversy West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said that Biswa Bangla logo is her creation and it is like her 'dream' that never had a price. She voluntarily gave that logo to West Bengal government and if any day, the government stops using it, the logo would return to her. Issuing a veiled warning to BJP leader Mukul Roy, the chief minister said that she would not spare anyone who would try to tarnish the image of the state and the logo.

"There are some people who are trying to spread malice against the state and its government. I would not spare anybody who is doing this. Biswa Bangla brand and the logo are my creations. I created the logo and it is like my dream. Nobody can buy a dream and it does not a have price. I had voluntarily given the logo to the government to use for several purposes and i had given it without any interest and without condition," said Banerjee on Wednesday.

Significantly, TMC's former national general secretary Mukul Roy, who has recently joined BJP is at loggerheads with TMC MP and chief minister's nephew Abhishek Banerjee over the ownership of the logo. Abhishek Banerjee has also filed a defamation suite in a city court and the case is still pending.
