NEW DELHI: A bill seeking prevention of forcible religious conversion and another one to exempt private vehicles from paying toll tax were among 40 private member's bills introduced in the Lok Sabha today.

The House also took up briefly a private member bill seeking compulsory voting which was moved by Janardan Singh Sigriwal ( BJP).

The bill to provide for prohibition on religious conversion by use of force, allurement or fraudulent means was introduced by BJP member A T Nana Patil. Another BJP member Prahlad Singh Patel introduced a bill for exempting owners of private vehicles from payment on toll on national highways.

Patel also came up with another bill seeking to regulate closing down of broadcasting channels by television broadcasting companies.

B C Khanduri, also of the BJP, introduced a bill to provide for compulsory military training for all able-bodied gazetted officers of the central government. Maheish Girri (BJP) introduced a bill to provide for payment of unempoloyment allowance to graduates living below poverty line.

The BJP member from East Delhi constituency also introduced a bill to regulate the functioning of playschools and setting up of a Playschools Education Authority.

Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJD) introduced a bill to prohibit promulgation of ordinance on subjects over which a bill is already pending in the House.

Feroze Varun Gandhi (BJP) introduced a bill to amend the Electricity Act to provide for penalty on consumers stealing power.

P P Chaudhary, also of the BJP, introduced Constitution Amendment bill to prohibit appointment of Chief Justices of Supreme Court and High Court and other judges on government posts after retirement.
