Bikers' stunts on Eastern Peripheral Expressway a day before launch raise questions over security
PM Modi launched two much-anticipated roadways projects - the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh and the first phase of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in the national capital.
The visuals, accessed by Times Now, showed the bikers performing stunts on the Expressway on Saturday, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated EPE, India’s first solar-powered expressway.
As per sources, the visuals of the bikers were recorded last night in Dasna in Ghaziabad on Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). The spot where the incident reportedly occurred is barely a few kilometers from the inauguration venue. Sources say that despite the inauguration, several parts of the EPE are still under construction, through which the bikers gained entry to the portions of the expressway which were not accessible for the general public at the time of the incident.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched two much-anticipated roadways projects - the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh and the first phase of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in the national capital.
The PM also undertook an eight kilometer-long roadshow in the national capital and later addressed a rally in Baghpat, which was attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Haryana CM ML Khattar, among others.
While addressing the rally, PM Modi said, “Today is a big day for residents of Delhi, NCR and Meerut. The Delhi-Meerut Expressway and the EPE will reduce the number of vehicles that will enter Delhi, thus helping in curbing pollution and reducing travel time.”
