The third phase of polling, which covered 57 assembly seats in nine districts on Thursday, recorded an average 59.46 per cent polling.

NEW DELHI: The third phase of polling, which covered 57 assembly seats in nine districts on Thursday, recorded an average 59.46 per cent polling. Most important aspect of this phase is that it has witnessed high turnout of voters in Seemanchal areas comprising Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Araria and Supaul. This region has high Muslim population.

While Katihar district recorded 67.27 per cent polling, Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj and Supaul districts have recorded 62.95 %, 62 %, 61.54 % and 58.60% respectively. It is Katihar, which has recorded highest poll per cent in all the 38 districts.
