Bihar parties welcome Supreme Court's decision of allowing CBI probe into Sushant Singh's death

New Delhi: Political parties in Bihar welcomed the SC decision to allow the CBI to probe actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said the decision vindicated the state government’s decision in the case. In a post on microblogging site Twitter, he said some people were trying to give it a political colour but the state government always believed it was a matter of justice.

He said he hoped CBI would probe the matter and ensure justice soon. Rajput, who hailed from Bihar, was found dead at his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14.


Leader of opposition in the state assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, while welcoming the court decision, said it was his party’s relentless efforts which woke up the state government from its deep slumber in the matter.

Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan said he hoped the CBI would investigate the case from all angles. Union minister of law and justice Ravi Shankar Prasad also welcomed the SC verdict. “Justice triumphs! The soul of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput will surely now rest in peace with the assurance of a fair investigation by CBI on the FIR filed in Patna by Bihar police whose request for transfer of case to CBI has been validated by the Supreme Court,” he tweeted.

Bihar BJP’s state unit chief Sanjay Jaiswal said there would be justice now. The Bihar government had recommended a CBI probe into the matter on August 4.
