Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind highlights state government's programme and policy

PATNA: Implementation of ‘Saat Nischaya” (Seven Commitments) programme, strengthening the police system to check criminal incidents, better infrastructure for health and education sectors, zero tolerance for corruption, special focus on power generation, transmission and distribution in the energy sector and availability of soil health card for farmers are among the priorities of the Grand Alliance government headed by Nitish Kumar.

State governor Ram Nath Kovind, who addressed joint session of both the houses on Thursday, highlighted the programme and policy of the state government. Governor Kovind told the members of both the houses that state government is strengthening the police system to check the crime. He added the government is working on an action plan for separation of law and order, and investigation work within the police force. A decision has been taken to set up a 24X7 modern control room at the police headquarters. Two regional Forensic Science Laboratories would be set up in Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur, besides Patna.

During Governor’s address, BJP members made a silent protest by showing placards to highlight alleged deterioration in the law and order situation in the state. They remained at their seats.

Governor Kovind also highlighted Student Credit Card Scheme which state government is going to launch for the students who clear class 12th. The scheme will enable such students to pursue higher studies.
