Bihar Governor outlines Nitish Kumar’s 7-point action plan for state’s development
NEW DELHI: Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind’s address to joint session of the state legislature on Friday focused on the achievements of the Nitish Kumar government over the past one decade while highlighting its agenda for this term.

The state government will now give priority to its seven-point agenda for making a prosperous and developed Bihar, the governor said. The government will also give 35% reservation to women in government jobs to take forward the campaign for women’s empowerment, he said. The governor mentioned that Bihar is among the largest youth-dominated states in the country in view of high population of the new generation. The government’s target is to ensure education and skill development training for the new generation, he said.

As part of its action plan, the government will provide students with ‘student credit card’ for education loan for pursuing higher education. Setting up of skill development training centres, self-help allowance and venture capital fund for young entrepreneurs will be other priorities of the new government, the governor said. The governor said that production has started in 306 industrial units and work is in progress for establishment of 183 units.
