Bihar government to set up a de-addiction centre in every district
CM ’s direction to set up de-addiction centres at district level has much to do with his announcement to ban alcohol in the state from April 1.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who held a high-level review meeting with the health department officials on Thursday, has given a clear direction to the official concerned for opening addiction centres at district-level to ensure proper treatment of alcoholics.
CM ’s direction to set up de-addiction centres at district level has much to do with his announcement to ban alcohol in the state from April 1.
The new excise policy is likely to be placed before the State cabinet which would meet on Friday evening. “The ban may be limited to the sale of country-made liquor,”a source in the state government centre. The government may allow the sale of IMFL in state’s municipal areas.
Apart from de-addiction centres, the government has also taken a decision to set up five new medical colleges across the state. It was also CM Nitish Kumar’s one pre-poll promise.
