The sharp exchanges between BJP and Shiv Sena have brought to the fore the underlying unease in their relations despite a patch-up.

MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena has warned the BJP against siding with Bihar CM Jitan Manjhi, as the party continued the tirade it started against the ally since the Delhi assembly polls.

In what would rile the BJP, an editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamna reiterated what former Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (U) Nitish Kumar has been alleging – that the BJP was instigating Manjhi against Kumar.

"The BJP is playing Manjhi against Nitish Kumar … this game will finish when the vote of confidence happens in the Bihar assembly, but supporting Manjhi means being on the side of ugly part of politics," it said. "For getting political advantage, no one should commit the sin of supporting (an individual) who openly talks of taking commissions," the editorial said.

The reference was to Manjhi’s reported statement that commission in government contracts had reached him too. According to reports,
