Bihar engineers' murder reminder of 'jungle raj' days: Giriraj Singh

MUMBAI: The murder of two engineers in Bihar shows that the return of "jungle raj" is inevitable in the state ruled by JD(U)-RJD-led alliance, Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh said today.

Terming JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar as a "dummy Chief Minister", Singh said that the actual power lies with RJD boss Lalu Prasad Yadav.

"Return of 'jungle raj' (lawlessness) is inevitable in Bihar. We had cautioned the people of the state about this during poll rallies," he said when asked to comment on the killing of two engineers of a private road construction company in Darbhanga district.

The two were shot dead by unidentified assailants on Darbhanga-Kusheshwarsthan state highway yesterday. Non-payment of levy was said to be the motive behind the murders.

"Though we respect the verdict given by the people of Bihar (in October-November elections), the truth is the era of extortion, dacoity, loot, murder is going to be back now because Nitish is a dummy CM and actual power lies with Lalu," Singh, a former Bihar cabinet minister said.

The Chief Minister should concentrate on law and order front and curb "rising" cases of dacoity, murder, kidnapping and extortion, the Lok Sabha MP from Nawada said.

Asked about stones being brought near the disputed site in Ayodhya, Singh said the Supreme Court has never banned such an activity.

"We respect Supreme Court's ruling in the case, but people must know that a Ram Temple would never be built in Pakistan," he said.

The Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises was in the city to review the progress of ongoing projects of his department.
