A Patna civil court has ordered the attaching and auctioning of the old secretariat building, which houses chief minister Nitish Kumar’s office.
Patna: A Patna civil court has ordered the attaching and auctioning of the old secretariat building, which houses chief minister Nitish Kumar’s office, and its premises for the realisation of Rs 664.85 crore which the state government owes the Bihar Rajya Bhumi Vikash Bank Samiti.

The building also houses the offices of several cabinet ministers as well as the chief secretary, home secretary and principal secretaries of several of the state departments. Of the total amount, Rs 171.15 crore is the interest on a principal amount of Rs 493.7 crore calculated till August 31 last year. The pending amount accrued mainly from loan waivers and subsidies given by the state government but not paid by the government to the bank.
