Bihar CM Nitish Kumar focuses on fulfilling his 7 promises

PATNA: Apparently aiming to develop his image as “a leader of commitments”, CM Nitish Kumar has given top priority to ensure implementation of his “Saat Nischaya” (seven commitments) programme at the earliest possible across the state.

Politically, his special efforts to implement his “seven commitments” is significant in view of the main opposition BJP’s regular attempt to show that his bonhomie with RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is at the cost of state’s development. It may also help paint him in contrast with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had made several promises to voters during his campaigning for the 2015 Bihar assembly polls.

Within three months of the formation of Grand Alliance government, Kumar has not only given final shape to Bihar Vikash Mission (BVM), but also got formal approval from the state cabinet to implement “the seven commitments” programme in the next five years.
