The CM told reporters that word 'milan' (meeting) is attached with Eid which means everybody should celebrate the festival in the spirit of brotherhood.

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today extended greetings to the citizens on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and mingled with devotees during morning prayer here.

Kumar visited Gandhi maidan where he wore skull cap and joined in prayer offered by muslims on the occasion.

After prayer, Kumar mingled with the devotees and embraced each other.

The CM told reporters that word "milan" (meeting) is attached with Eid which means everybody should celebrate the festival in the spirit of brotherhood.

"Society should move ahead with this message of love and affection for each others community," he added.

Later, he visited Imarat Shariah in Phulwarisharif and extended warm greetings to devotees on the occasion of EID.

Built in 1921, Imarat Shariah Bihar, Jharkhand & Orissa is a socio religious organization of Muslim Ummah.

Reports of devotees offering prayer and greeting each other on the occasion of Eid came in from other parts of Bihar also.

BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain celebrated Eid at Supual and extended greetings to the people on the occasion.
