Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today condoled the death of veteran Hindi film-maker and 'King of Romance' Yash Chopra saying it was a shock.

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today condoled the death of veteran Hindi film-maker and 'King of Romance' Yash Chopra saying it was a shock.

The death of Chopra, who has made many a good films, is a shock for movie watchers and the film industry, Kumar said in his condolence message.

Chopra who gave many a hit films commands a great respect among cinema goers. His demise is a setback for the film industry, he added.

He prayed for strength to Chopra's family to bear the pain of his death.

Meanwhile, NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul also condoled the death of Chopra and said his demise is a great loss not only to India but to the entire global film fraternity.

In a condolence message to Mrs Pamela Chopra, Lord Paul said "Yash Chopra, popularly known as King of Romance brought joy to millions of people all over the world with his romantic films. His death is a great loss to India and the film world."

Yash Chopra, 80, died today at a hospital in Mumbai. The film-maker had been admitted to the hospital last week and was being treated for dengue fever.
