From sacked minister to Chief Minister: Samrat Choudhary becomes Bihar’s first BJP CM
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has retained charge of 29 departments in the newly allocated cabinet portfolios, underscoring a tight grip over key administrative functions. The departments under his purview include crucial ministries such as Home, Agriculture, Health, Tourism, Art and Culture, and Sports.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has been assigned 10 departments, among them Water Resources, Minority Welfare, Education, Higher Education, Transport, and Rural Development sectors central to infrastructure and human capital development.

Meanwhile, another Deputy Chief Minister, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, will oversee eight departments, including the key portfolios of Energy and Finance, placing him at the helm of the state’s fiscal and power sectors.

The distribution of portfolios reflects a concentration of core governance areas with the chief minister, while delegating significant developmental responsibilities to the deputy chief ministers.
