Bhutan king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck along with his wife Jetsun Pema offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

VARANASI: Bhutan king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck along with his wife Jetsun Pema today offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple and attended the famous Ganga aarti at Dashashwamedh ghat, an official said here.

The Bhutan royal also visited Sarnath in the morning, said Ravindra Kumar, Regional Tourist Officer here.

He arrived here yesterday morning from Bodh Gaya, Kumar said, adding that Wangchuck was overwhelmed by his visit to Varanasi.

According to Kumar, the king said he found Varanasi to be one of the best places he has ever visited in India.

Wangchuck also said to have remarked that he has never been so deeply connected with any river.
