Bhima Koregaon activists arrest justified: Fadnavis

For the first time Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has come out and has said that the Supreme Court order on the Bhima Koregaon activists arrest justified the state’s stand that there was a huge conspiracy against the country.

“The Bhima Koregoan was just one incident while investigating it, the Police have come to know about many more instances of how the urban naxals were trying to create a conspiracy against the Nation. They were trying to create a civil war, they were trying to give a urban face to the naxalites in the country and were trying to shield them.” Said Fadnvais while addressing the media in Mumbai.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister slammed those who were criticizing the arrest saying, “Certain Pseudo liberals, neo liberals and so called liberals were using the media to claim that there was no evidence. We have got all the material evidences, which we will provide to the court.” Said Fadnavis.


He lamented that there were certain political parties that were supporting these’ urban naxals’ and not the government on the issue. “ Those political parties who are supporting these people, I will only tell them one thing, supporting these (urban maoists) is like supporting the country’s enemies. If they give their support to such people then they would be exposed before the people and they would have to answer to the people. I would advise them not to do politics with the country’s security.”

The Chief Minister said that they have a water tight case against those involved and said, “ We will unveil the conspiracy being planned against the country. We will not allow people to play with the country’s security. These people were trying to ride on emotions of communities and were trying to pit them against each other. They wanted a civil war, they wanted to kill the PM and were colluding with organizations of enemy states.”

Regarding the SC observations on the Police press conference before the arrests, Fadnavis tried to justify it saying that the Police had tried to clear their side as the ‘Pseudo liberals were speaking in the media that there was no evidence against those arrested’.
