The Trinamool Congress leadership has chalked out a strategy with the aim to increase the poll margin of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, compared to Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, who won from the Constituency with 28,000 votes in the recently concluded 2021 polls. Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay has vacated the seat for Mamata Banerjee.

Following that line, the party has worked out a strategy to reach every household in every ward, with the strategy-one worker will reach five houses and ensure that people from all those five houses go to the polling booth to vote.

“There is a sense of complacency among the voters in Constituencies like Bhabnipur, where the voters are confident that Didi will win. So, there is a tendency to stay away from voting, thinking that Mamata Banerjee will win. This may decrease the margin,” a senior Trinamool leader told ET.


“We have given charge to our workers and each one of them will reach out to five households. Mamata Banerjee has worked hard for the people for years and people know about it,” he said.

Transport Minister Firhad Hakim also said in similar lines. He said, “We must reach out to people and remind them that they should vote on September 30 as Mamata Banerjee is contesting from Bhabanipur. Now, people must cast their vote.”

She gave a message of harmony and alleged BJP for divisive and communal politics. “I respect all religions. I went to a mosque, Gurdwara and also a temple,” Mamata Banerjee at Bhabanipur said today during the session. Mamata Banerjee offered her prayers in two temples in Bhabanipur Constituency today. She had visited a Gurudwara off Harish Mukherjee Road in her constituency

Meanwhile, a day after ECI show caused BJP Bhabanipur candidate Priyanka Tibrewal for violating the pandemic protocol, Priyanka’s election agent Sajal Ghosh on Thursday complained to returning officer of Bhabanipur Constituency against Trinamool candidate Mamata Banerjee for breaking protocol in Gurudwara yesterday.
