After a nine-day break, the yatra will resume on Tuesday, travelling through parts of Uttar Pradesh before moving to Haryana and Punjab on its way to Jammu and Kashmir.
The Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra will culminate with flag hoisting in Srinagar on January 30, the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. Before that, the yatra will travel from Jammu to Srinagar from January 20, KC Venugopal, All India Congress Committee general secretary (organisation), said on Monday.

Earlier, Congress had said that the yatra would culminate in Srinagar on January 26. But the Republic Day is reserved for the official function in the J&K capital, usually held under heavy security arrangements.

After a nine-day break, the yatra will resume on Tuesday, travelling through parts of Uttar Pradesh before moving to Haryana and Punjab on its way to Jammu and Kashmir. While releasing the schedule at a press conference, Venugopal objected to the fact that neither Union home mininster Amit Shah nor his deputy ministers cared to personally reply to the official AICC letter to him recently about certain security lapses that happened during the yatra in Delhi and about the need for heightened security for Gandhi and his colleagues during the rest of the yatra. Instead a director general level officer of the Central Reserve Police Force replied to the letter, said Venugopal. The AICC also released the latest theme song for the rest of the yatra, as also a commemorative calendar.

RAIPUR PLENARY ON FEB 24-26
The AICC on Monday announced a three-day plenary session to be held from February 24-26 in Raipur. The plenary will ratify the election of Mallikarjun Kharge as Congress president, decide whether half of the next Congress Working Committee would be constituted through elections or whether to authorise the party president to fill up the entire CWC through nominations. It will also frame the party’s official political positioning through halfdozen resolutions, including political and economic outlook.
