Bhaiyyuji Maharaj suicide: Guru's associate gets power of attorney

The alleged suicide of spiritual leader Bhaiyyuji Maharaj took a sensational twist today. The Indore police have recovered the second page of his alleged suicide note where Bhaiyyuji has given a power of attorney to his associate Vinayak for all his bank accounts and properties .

“My all powers of finance, properties, bank accounts ... all power of signing authorities will be Vinayak because I am having trust in Vinayak. I am writing this thing without pressure," the note read.

The police are probing all angles into Bhaiyyuji's death, including a family fued.


On Tuesday, the spiritual leader, who came into limelight after mediating between the UPA government and Anna Hazare, was found dead in his Khandwa road residence in Indore. He was rushed to a hospital were he was pronounced brought dead.

Maharaj was a well known spiritual guru. He was one of the several spiritual leaders who was given the title of minister of state by the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh government.

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had earlier blamed the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government for the 'suicide' of Bhaiyyuji. He said, "He (Bhayyuji Maharaj) was worried about illegal mining in the Narmada by the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government and was offered the post of minister to shut his mouth."

Bhyaiyyuji's remains were shifted to his native place where his last rites are to be performed by his daughter, news agency ANI reported.
