Best Bakery accussed dies in Mumbai Jail
Jayanti Gohil a 57 year old, accused in the 2002 Gujarat Best Bakery riots case, died in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail on Sunday night. Gohil was acquitted by a Vadodara court in Best Bakery riots case in 2004, he later absconded when there was a retrial.

In 2013 however he was arrested by the NIA which initially booked Gohil and his son Ramesh in the Ajmer blasts case, however they were later discharged.

The NIA handed them over to the Maharashtra ATS as they were wanted in the Best Bakery riots. Gohil had undergone multiple surgeries for a heart ailment that he was suffering from.
