The city police have also adopted a technology where the Police Commissioner himself can personally man on a real-time basis, the movement of all police vehicles moving around the city.
The City Police will further upgrade its technology deployment to ease traffic congestion on the City roads as the number of vehicles is expected to touch 10 million in the next two years or so.

The traffic management technology will address traffic bottlenecks on real time in all major roads through its traffic management centre (TMC), Police Commissioner T.Suneel Kumar told Bangalore Chamber of Industries & Commerce (BCIC) members in an interaction.

The TMC tracks all major roads to clear traffic congestion through its seamless traffic signal integration system, whereby the signal lights are aligned to allow free flow of traffic based on the congestion hold-ups of the said junction.

The Commissioner, according to a BCIC press-note, said the City’s road network is primarily radial and converging at several centres leading to unwarranted traffic congestion in and around the city. In order to smoothen traffic, the City Police has suggested to the government to construct more flyovers and also streamline chaotic parking which, in most cases, lead to traffic hold-ups.

The city police have also adopted a technology where the Police Commissioner himself can personally man on a real-time basis, the movement of all police vehicles moving around the city. The higher-ups can give live instructions to the police vehicles to reach trouble spots in minutes now. “Thanks to this technology we are now in a position to reach trouble spots in minutes of being contacted by citizens and resolve the issue,” Suneel Kumar told BCIC members.

A BCIC team led by president Kishore Alva and senior vice president Devesh Agarwal met the Police Commissioner to discuss the city's traffic issues and to offer the organisation's support to them on a daily basis especially on the inner and outer ring roads where the working population moves to work daily.
