Bengal CPIM to hold study circle simultaneously in all its party units on March 19

KOLKATA: After a gap of about forty years, Bengal CPIM will hold a study circle in all it's party units on March 19, party's state secretary and polit bureau member Surjya Kanta Mishra said on Thursday.

It is learnt that the study circle will take place simultaneously in about 20,000 party units across the state on Sunday. "Holding such a study circle in all our party units in a single day is something new. The main purpose for holding this study circle is to improve ideological concept of our party workers. CPIM workers across the state will discuss our party programme during the study circle on Sunday. Not only the full-time party members will take part in the discussion, members of our party's auxiliary groups would also participate in discussing party programme," Mishra said on Thursday.

Mishra also said that such study circles played crucial role in shaping communist movements in different countries in the world.

Interestingly, such a study circle did not take place during the 34-year regime of the CPIM-led Left Front government in Bengal. Now the party is out of power in the state for the past six years and facing a very difficult situation to run the organisation effectively.

CPIM's Bengal leadership, is therefore, making all possible moves to regain it's past glory and mass support which the party had been enjoying during it's 34 year regime and organising the study circle is being viewed as a major move to strengthen the organisation.

Mishra has also urged all the party units to make elaborate arrangements for holding the study circles in their respective units on March 19.
