Bengal CPIM plans to hold Jathas (rallies) in November to counter BJP's communal politics

CPIM sources here said that both BJP and Trinamool had been engaged in competitive communalism in order to increase their vote share. "The BJP and it's frontal organisations are engaged in encouraging Hindu communalism and to counter this, the ruling Trinamool Congress in our state has adopted a soft stand towards Muslim fundamentalists. Act of these two parties will certainly help polarization among our people on communal line and the CPIM is the only party which is capable of challenging this competitive communalism," said a CPIM central committee member.
Party insiders, however, made it clear that by organising the twin rally, the CPIM is actually trying to regain their lost political influence in rural Bengal before next year's panchayet elections. In every elections which had taken place after May 2011 when Mamata Banerjee ousted the CPIM-led government from Bengal, the CPIM had lost the support in rural Bengal as well as in metropolitan cities. Till date, there is no sign of improvement on the part of CPIM in regard to increase their vote share as well as recover the grounds which they had lost six years back.
