Bengal Congress alleges government resorted to falsehood to prevent Nabanna march
Bengal Congress has alleged that the state government had resorted to falsehood to prevent the party’s Nabanna march scheduled for Tuesday.

West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told journalists on Monday that the party had informed the director-general of police, GMP Reddy, about Tuesday’s march and a memorandum the party planned to hand over but he asked them not to go there as the DGP’s office was not located in Nabanna.
"I had a talk with the director-general. I told him that our representatives will meet him at Nabanna to submit a memorandum, highlighting the deteriorating law and order situation in Bengal. The DG told me that he will not be there to receive the Congress memorandum because of his preoccupation. I told him that the job of receiving the memorandum can be done by any senior police official. But today, the DG called me to say that there is no need to march to Nabanna...as the office of the director-general of police is located at Bhabani Bhavan in Kolkata and not at Nabanna. We really can’t expect the top-most police official to make such a false statement."
