Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to conduct video conference with DMs to review situation
KIOLKATA: To review the flood situation in West Bengal and oversee relief efforts, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will conduct a video conference with the district magistrates today.

"To review flood situation and to oversee relief efforts, I am conducting a video conference of DMs of Bengal at 1 PM," Banerjee said in a statement.

The flood situation remained grim in the southern districts of the state with the natural calamity claiming 69 lives.

Disaster Management Department sources said incidents of lightning, wall collapse, electrocution, snake bite and drowning accounted for the fatalities.

* About 3.63 lakh people have taken refuge in 2,213 relief camps in the 12 affected districts.
