Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Saturday that former CM Mamata Banerjee did not suffer a fracture on her leg in 2021 as claimed by her and had campaigned with a fractured leg. CM said CID will be probing this and he will speak on this post bypolls.

"Banerjee had accused the people of Nandigram falsely, saying she was attacked by people of Nandigram during the 2021 assembly polls but as per the reports of the hospital available with him, Banerjee did not have any “fracture.” , CM said.

"I will not comment on it as bypolls are there on Oct 6. I will speak on this after October 9," CM said today. Adhikari said he has the documents and reports.

“I have seen the report and despite she being the Chief Minister at the time, the doctors wrote in the report that she had no fractures. Mamata Banerjee falsely blamed the people of Nandigram for attacking her and campaigned with bandage on her legs.” Adhikari said as he was campaigning for BJP candidate Hasirani Rath in Nandigram on Friday.

“After becoming Chief Minister, I don’t attack the former Chief Minister. If needed, I will bring out the report which I have with me, which was lying in the hospital while X Ray report is given to the patient,” CM said yesterday.

Adhikari said extended hands of friendship to the minority community in Nandigram, as he campaigned in the seat vacated by him. “It is best time to do friendship and show it on October 6. You won't get a better opportunity than this,” CM said. In Reginagar also, yesterday, Bengal CM iterated that the minority community must vote for BJP and participate in the development process.
