Bengal boils again: Falta locals protest alleging TMC threats; CRPF deployed ahead of vote counting

Locals in the Falta area are staging protests alleging that TMC leaders have been threatening them, prompting deployment of security forces, including CRPF armoured vehicles and RAF personnel, ahead of vote counting on May 4. Protesters claim they are being intimidated, with one woman alleging that TMC’s Israfil Chowkidar warned them of violence, saying their houses would be burned if certain candidates win, and demanding his arrest and better security for women, while also stating that despite previously voting for TMC, they were allegedly attacked and now feel unsafe.
