Bengal blast: Governor K.N. Tripathi hopes NIA probe will reveal truth
Two suspected terrorists had died and another injured on October 2 when an explosion took place in Burdwan’s Kharragarh area.

"Since our state shares a large part of its border with Bangladesh, we need to be extra cautious and should take necessary and adequate steps to maintain law and order," said Tripathi.
Two suspected terrorists had died and another injured on October 2 when an explosion took place in Burdwan’s Kharragarh area. Mamata Banerjee’s government had assigned the CID to probe the case and had been hesitating to hand over the case to the NIA. The CID has already arrested four people including two women.
Even though Mamata’s government was opposing NIA probe, the Union home ministry, considering international ramifications of the case due to the alleged involvement of Bangladesh nationals, directed the central agency to take over the probe. With West Bengal sharing border with Bangladesh, Tripathi too called for taking necessary steps in this regard.
Meanwhile a NIA team during the day visited the CID headquarters here and held discussions with the top officers.
A large number of watch dials, SIM cards and other tools required to make improvised explosive devices were seized from the house where the blast occurred.
