Bengal BJP threatens action against rebel workers
KOLKATA: Fearing revolt by a section of party workers, Bengal BJP on Wednesday issued a warning for its workers and said that action will be taken against those who team up with hooligans to create ruckus. BJP president Amit Shah was supposed to address a rally here on November 30 but he postponed his trip to December.

A section of disgruntled party workers, including leaders Jayanta Bose and Subhas Sarkar, have threatened to go on a hunger strike on Friday at the state party headquarters demanding removal of state president Rahul Sinha. Some BJP leaders in the state have been demanding Sinha's removal for the past few months.

"We request all our workers to be calm. The party is planning to enter into series of agitations from November 30 but certain sections may be up to some mischief. Our leading opponent ( Trinamool Congress) will try to seize this opportunity to break the strength of our workers. If any of our workers team up with such hooligans, the party will take necessary actions," BJP general secretary and spokesperson, Ashim Sarkar said on Wednesday.

He added that Bose was suspended on March 19 and Sarkar got suspension notice from the party on May 10 last year "Both Bose and Sarkar have been suspended and they have no bearing on our party activity. We think they are being provoked by some other political party," he said.

BJP has already informed the police about a possible trouble at their head quarters in view of the threat by some o the party workers including the two suspended leaders.

Police sources said security at the headquarters has been beefed up following the alert.
