KOLKATA: West Bengal BJP president Rahul Sinha's brother today joined the Trinamool Congress's youth wing at a rally here, according to TMYC national president Abhishek Banerjee.

" Sudip Sinha, brother of Rahul Sinha, was among several youth activists of the BJP who joined the Trinamool Youth Congress at its Shahid Minar Rally today, Abhishek, MP and nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, today said.

Abhishek, flanked by several top TMC leaders including Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim, introduced Sudip Sinha to the crowd as the new general secretary of TMYC's south Kolkata committee.

Speakers at the rally, including Panchayat Minister Subrata Mukherjee, took on BJP president Amit Shah and party national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh for their criticism of Mamata Banerjee and the TMC at yesterday's BJP rally.

"We have to be careful and alert. We have to save Bengal from these elements who want to destabilise the state," Subrata Mukherjee said.
