Bengal BJP demands termination of Trinamool's Bongaon candidate's nomination
The candidate, Mamatabala Thakur, has been accused by BJP of giving false information to the Election Commission.

In a hurriedly called press conference late on Saturday evening, Bengal BJP president Rahul Sinha told the media that mamatabala had stated before the election commission that she had passed class eight standard from a school in Maharashtra. "But we have come to know that the school she had referred to, does not provide education up to class eight level. The school teaches up to class seven. We are certain that mamatabala has given a false statement before the commission about her academic qualifications. Making false statement before election commission is a serious crime and we demand termination of her nomination."
Sinha said a BJP delegation will meet the chief electoral officer (CEO) S N Gupta on Sunday to demand termination of Mamatabala's candidature. The by-elections in Bongaon Lok Sabha seat will take place on February 13 and it is very important for the BJP to wrest the seat from Trinamool congress.
Bongaon is supposed to witness a four corner fight among BJP, Trinamool congress, CPI(M) and congress. But the main fight will remain confined between the ruling Trinamool congress and opposition BJP and once the saffron brigade manages to terminate Trinamool's candidature, winning Bongaon will be much easier for them.
BJP had now just two MPs in the lok sabha from West Bengal. Once they manage to wrest Bongaon from Trinamool, it will help them in a big way to extract electoral mileage in the ensuing civic polls in Bengal which are supposed to take place in this April.
