Beltron ties up with Blicare to create security solutions
Bihar's Electronics Development Corporation, Beltron, has signed up with Blicare to create anti-counterfeiting, security and brand protection solutions.
"The collaboration will address the diverse needs of various sectors and we will provide these services in Bihar, Jharkhand and the North Eastern states. Our initiative began with the rampant misuse of the Class X certificates. It is very easy to use or misuse this certificate and remember, over 1 million certificates are issued annually, and nearly 25% of these are not genuine. Nearly 40% of Class X students apply for jobs where the eligibility criterion is this Class X certificate. That makes it an important document hence the potential for misuse is vast. Then, there are government schemes which are ill managed because the scheme does not reach the intended targets. We have therefore chosen to start with this project in schools first, beginning from the next time Class X exams are held, in 2012" Ramesh Kumar said.
The state PSU expects to generate revenues of Rs. 300 crore in two years through deployment of this technology. Bilcare will provide the scanners manufactured in its Singapore plant and Praful Naik, executive director, Bilcare Ltd, added that a major chunk of this revenue would be theirs.
