Become your own hero: Kailash Satyarthi to children

NEW DELHI: 'Be your own role model or hero' is the message that Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi has for children on the eve of Children's Day.

"You are not only the future but also the present. Those days are gone when a child was confined to their family or country. Now what you think and do, whether you succeed or fail, will impact the whole world," the child rights activist said in a message.

"Therefore, you must break the barriers that divide the society and connect your mind and heart with each other and the rest of the world.

"A hero is present inside each one of you. You can become your own role model by doing one good act a day then why do you look at artificial ones?," added Satyarthi who along with Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for his struggle against suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.
