Barack Obama's India trip: US delegation meets Prakash Javadekar prior to President's visit
US delegation today met Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar who apprised them about various initiatives taken by the government in various sectors.

"Today I met a US delegation. Starting from climate change to many other initiatives that India have taken, I apprised them about these. We had a good discussion," Javadekar told.
The US delegation is in India to attend the XXth US-India Strategic Dialogue -- a track II process jointly convened by Ananta Aspen Centre, CII and the Aspen Institute.
The US-India Strategic Dialogue is a policy group which plays certain roles in framing bilateral ties. Its co-chairman is Joseph S Nye, professor at the John F Kennedy School in Harvard University.
Ministry sources said Javadekar apprised the delegation about various steps the government has initiated towards providing clean air and water.
He told the delegation how polluting industrial units have been asked to install effluent treatment plants and actions taken against those who were not complying with standards.
Javadekar also apprised the delegation about the impetus given by the Narendra Modi-led government on research and innovation.
