Bangladesh's envoy visits Gujarat ahead of PM Modi’s Dhaka trip

High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India Muhammad Imran visited Gujarat for a series of meetings to expand partnership ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s Dhaka visit on March 26-27.

During the March 10-13 visit, he called on the Governor of the State of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat at the Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani at his office. In the meetings, they discussed various areas of bilateral cooperation.

The High Commissioner also visited the Sabarmati Ashram and paid tribute to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi. On 12 March 1930, Gandhiji led the Salt Satyagraha / Dandi March from this historic Ashram.


The High Commissioner also visited the Statue of Unity in Kevadia of Narmada district and paid respect to Sarder Ballavbhai Patel. He also visited various development projects in and around the Statue of Unity. He also met and interacted with Governor of Sikkim Ganga Prasad who was also visiting Statue of Unity.

The High Commissioner visited the Amul factories in Anand district, a symbol of self-reliance envisioned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Earlier, he also visited Vatnagar - an ancient city north of Ahmedabad and visited a number of historical places and archeological sites.
