NEW DELHI: Bangladesh has been extending full cooperation to India through pro-active action against Indian insurgent groups based in that country that resulted in uprooting of several top militant leaders, Lok Sabha was told today.

Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said during 2009-14, at least 17 top leaders of various Indian insurgent groups operating from Bangladesh have been arrested and eight others have surrendered.

However, certain Indian insurgent groups continue to take shelter and use Bangladesh territories for anti-India activities.

"The intelligence agencies of both the countries have regularly been sharing information with respect of camps/ hideouts and activities of Indian insurgent groups including infiltration, names of prominent leaders, seizure of arms/ ammunition and fake Indian currency notes," he said.
