Bandh culture in Assam: Employees to face salary cut, says Tarun Gogoi

Continuing its tirade against bandh culture in Assam, the state government has threatened to deduct salary of those employees who remain absent during bandh.

GUWAHATI: Continuing its tirade against bandh culture in Assam, the state government has threatened to deduct salary of those employees who remain absent during bandh.

Assam state government has banned any kind of bandh for next one month. The state witnessed series of bandhs in the wake of violence in Bodoland.

Assam chief minister, Tarun Gogoi said, "Those employees not coming during bandh will face cut of salary."

Since January 1 to August 30 this year there were 23 statewide bandhs, 48 district bandhs, 65 road blockades and 13 rail blockades.
