Ballot papers for civic polls: Arvind Kejriwal requests L-G to call a meeting
NEW DELHI: Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday alleged that electronic voting machines had led to the party's defeat in the assembly election in Punjab and demanded that ballot papers be used instead of EVMs for the upcoming municipal polls in Delhi.

Kejriwal cited exit polls that predicted a neck-and-neck contest between the Congress and AAP , and a complete rout of the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance in the state where the party managed to win only 20 of the 117 seats. “Many said there is anger against the Akalis and the AAP is sweeping the polls,“ Kejriwal said. “Despite these claims, Akali managed to get a 31% vote share as against AAP's 25%.How is this even possible?" Kejriwal alleged “20-25% of AAP's vote share was transferred to SAD (through tampered EVMs), which is why the Congress won the election“.“They wanted AAP to lose at any cost,“ he said.

While he conceded defeat in Goa, where the party could not win a single seat of the 40 assembly seats in the state, he called for a serious probe into the use of EVMs.
