Bal Thackeray still under observation

Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray continued to be under medical observation at the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai but he was brought out of the ICU on Thursday afternoon.

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray continued to be under medical observation at the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai but he was brought out of the ICU on Thursday afternoon. Shiv Sena spokesperson said Mr. Thackeray was in good spirits and also chatted with a few visitors.

Mr.Thackeray got admitted to the hospital mainly because of stomach pain and indigestion but doctors decided on Wednesday that he should be put through some additional medical tests. After spending a day in the ICU Mr.Thackeray was released form there on Thursday morning.

BJP President Nitin Gadkari and some bollywood celebrities visited Lilavati hospital on Thursday to meet the Shiv Sena supremo and also chatted with him for a while. Sena sources said Mr.Thackeray watched television for a while and took rest. Doctors indicated that if Mr.Thackeray shows good recovery he may be discharged from the hospital by Sunday.
