Bailable warrant issued against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal
AMETHI: A bailable warrant was today issued by a court here against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his allegedly defamatory remarks during campaign for Lok Sabha polls last year.

The warrant was issued by the civil court of Musafirkhana in Amethi district asking Kejriwal to appear before it on August 8.

Kejriwal, addressing a public meeting in favour of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kumar Vishwas at village Aurangabad under police station Musafirkhana, had allegedly said that "to cast votes for Congress or BJP will be a treacherous act against the religion and the country."

An FIR in this regard was lodged in police station Musafirkhana by station officer Premchand.

Kumar Vishwas had taken on Rahul Gandhi of Congress and HRD Minister Smriti Irani of BJP in the Lok Sabha elections last year.
