Bahrain bans import of live birds from India, Iran

Bahrain has imposed a ban on import of live birds from India and Iran after an outbreak of bird flu virus in India.

DUBAI: Bahrain has imposed a ban on import of live birds from India and Iran after an outbreak of bird flu virus there, though import of eggs and other products from the two countries will continue.

Director of Animal Health at the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture Dr Salman Abdulnabi said certain measures had been taken to prevent avian flu in the Kingdom.
