We all know that Muslims are the deprived lot under the BJP government, says Ajmal.
Guwahati: After Lok Sabha MP and chief of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Badruddin Ajmal said that muslim do not need worry about Assam government’s two child policy for muslims do not get government jobs, BJP in Assam attacked Ajmal and said that perfume baron is using religion to further his political business.

Assam cabinet has recently decided that from 2021 government jobs will be available only to those having two children. Ajmal reacted and said, "As government jobs are anyways not available to muslims, they need not worry about this. In past Sachar Committee report has pointed out this fact."

Ajmal said, "We all know that Muslims are the deprived lot under the BJP government. Their prospect for government job is already bleak under the BJP rule. So, why should they follow the two-child norm? Our religion do not have such norm. As the chances of getting government job are bleak under the BJP government, I urge Muslim youths to explore the path of self-reliance through entrepreneurship so that they can provide livelihoods to many others."

BJP spokesperson Sayed Mominul Aowal said that religion does not state as how many children one should have. He added, "Ajmal is engaged in politics of polarization by invoking religion on the two-child norm. Now that his party is losing ground Ajmal is resorting to expanding his political business through religious polarization," Aowal said. He said, "Government decided on two child norm to counter negative impact population explosion. But Ajmal directly gave a an angle of religion to the decision."

State Congress President, Ripun Bora said that nobody can impose two-child policy on anyone in democracy. Earlier BJP led government have extended the two child norms which initiated for those willing to fight Panchayat polls to Guwahati Muncipal Corporation (GMC).

Last year state assembly passed Assam Panchayat (Amendment) Bill 2018 which provides that any person willing to contest panchayat polls must have a sanitary latrine at home and cannot have more than two children.
