Both AGP and BPF are alliance partner of BJP in Assam has jointly contested the recent assembly polls.

Ajmal said, “AIUDF will get between 24 to 40 seats in the 126 member assembly and together with other parties we can form the next government. All the apprehensions that AIUDF will be reduced to single digit from present 18 MLAs are not correct.”

The AIUDF leader added, “We will decide on chief ministerial candidate later. Congress can also join the third front.”

Couple of independent candidates has claimed that they are getting feelers from congress and BJP to support them post declaration of results on May 19.
