Badal to be next Punjab CM: Sukhbir

NEW DELHI: Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal will be the next Chief Minister of Punjab, his son and party leader Sukhbir Singh Badal said on Tuesday as early trends indicated a win for the Akali-BJP combine in the Assembly polls.
"Parkash Singh Badal will be the Chief Minister," Sukhbir told a priavte news channel when asked if the junior Badal was in contention for the post.
Commenting on the trends that showed the Akali Dal-BJP combine was set to wrest power from Congress, Sukhbir said Chief Minister Amarinder Singh was paying for having ruled the state like a "dictator".
"He (Amarinder) ruled like a dictator, lived like a dictator, behaved like a dictator ... He never had people's feelings in mind," he said.
"People's feelings have been expressed through voting," Sukhbir said.
