On August 1, the Allahabad High Court will hear a complaint contesting the acquittal of all 32 suspects, including BJP leader LK Advani, in the Babri Masjid destruction case, in 2022.

Haji Mehboob, an Ayodhya citizen, filed the plea in the Allahabad High Court's Lucknow bench, seeking punishment for the acquitted people.

Previously, a revision petition against the CBI court judgement was filed in the high court, but it has now been changed to an appeal petition.

According to the lawyer, if the court finds it hearable, the matter of the demolition of the Babri Masjid will be opened as well.

The special CBI court in Lucknow acquitted all suspects in the Babri Masjid destruction case on September 30, 2020.

Senior BJP leaders such as Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharati, and Kalyan Singh are among those involved in the case.
