B L Joshi appointed as UP Governor for second term
NEW DELHI: B L Joshi, who has been getting gubernatorial postings since 2004, was today appointed as Governor of Uttar Pradesh for a second term.

A Rashtrapati Bhawan communique said Joshi would continue as Governor of UP for the second term with effect from the date of assuming the office.

78-year-old Joshi was sworn-in Governor of Uttar Pradesh on July 28, 2009.

He was previously Lt Governor of Delhi from 2004 to 2007, Governor of Meghalaya in 2007, and Governor of Uttarakhand from October 2007 to July 2009.

Karnataka Governor H R Bhardawaj has been asked to discharge duties as Governor of Kerala till the new incumbent Sheila Dikshit takes over.

The vacancy in Kerala Raj Bhawan arose after Nikhil Kumar, a former Delhi Police Commissioner, resigned. He is likely to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls from Aurangabad in Bihar.
