Ayodhya issue: We need monuments for ideal men like Ram, says Mohan Bhagwat

A query by a student to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat on whether building a Ram Temple in Ayodhya would put food on the plate of the poor led to Bhagwat defending the Ram Temple issue.

"Has not building the Ram Temple led to the food being put on the poor's plate? This issue is not just about building a Temple. Culturally there are certain ideal people in society if you build a monument for them then people get inspired by such people. It is important that you have such examples of such people before the society."s aid Bhagwat justifying the demand for building a Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Bhagwat was speaking during an interaction with students in Pune that was organised by the MIT School of Government and Bhartiya Chatra Sansad Programme in Pune.
