Ayodhya effect: Couples tie knot a day in advance

Couples reschedule their marriage dates and tie knots fearing the verdict and bandhs

BANGALORE: It appears developments in distant Ayodhya are forcing many marriages to be rescheduled. Fazil Ahmed and Shabrin Taj Umme Naseeba are one such couple who were to get married on Thursday, but tied the knot on Wednesday itself after their families decided that would be more prudent.

The marriage was conducted at S R Function Hall on Arabic College Main Road. Family members informed guests via phone and SMS to come over for the function on Wednesday itself.

In fact, last week too, one couple in Bangalore got married on September 23, a day ahead of schedule, following apprehension of the city shutting down on September 24.
