NEW DELHI: The attack which has claimed the life of a Manipuri man here was a "well-coordinated" and "pre- planned" one, the Union home ministry said today even as it expressed "great concern" over the repeated cases of assault in the national capital on people from the northeast.

"The attack seems to be well-coordinated and pre-planned. Police have already obtained some of the footage of the incident," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said, adding that he was in touch with Delhi Police regarding the investigation.

Asked about the repeated attacks in Delhi in which people from the northeast have been targeted, he said it was a matter of worry for the government.

"Our government is very sensitive to (the issue)... The repeated incidents of attack on people of northeast is of great concern to all of us," he told reporters here.

A 30-year-old Manipuri man was allegedly beaten to death by a group of assailants last night in the Kotla Mubarakpur area of south Delhi.

The deceased, identified as Shaloni, was returning from a friend's place in Kotla Mubarakpur when he was intercepted by a group of about half-a-dozen men who then attacked him.
